Serving The Community

MR Systems and Grow2B Urban Renewal Project

MR SYSTEMS partners with the Grow2B urban renewal project

David Foster and Michael Orth will volunteer their spare time for the Grow2B initiative. The Grow2B initiative is a multifaceted approach to cultivating an environment that demonstrates how interconnected we are to the land and each other. According to David Foster, community partnerships and volunteers of Grow2B are bringing people and organizations together in shared outdoor spaces to focus on urban agriculture and environmental sustainability in the northeast of Metro Atlanta.

“Through grant funding and donations, this start-up encompasses a broader goal in serving those who struggle with food insecurity and require nutritious, fresh food within the Gwinnett/Hall County areas. Harvests will be grown and donated to local food banks throughout the seasons.”

“A land access agreement with Sts. Mary and Martha Episcopal Church have allowed Grow2B to begin infrastructure development of this urban agriculture effort on portions of 34 acres of prime farmland in Buford, GA. Regenerative farming strategies and water conservation best management practices will be put into place to demonstrate how innovative people can be with agriculture, water use, and food production in suburban spaces. The Grow2B Farm Team foresees this urban agriculture initiative will become a learning landscape within the local community for schools, businesses, and other interested parties over time.”  – David Foster

David will volunteer his time and control expertise to design and build a solar-based irrigation system for the project. The system will utilize rain-barrel collected water, a solar power pump, and control systems for schedule irrigation of the project.

Michael Orth will be volunteering his time to assemble the control panel for the project.

Let’s congratulate them on this amazing project that will be helping various communities in the state of Georgia.
